Pink Pom Pom Perfection

I love going to the Dahlia Show at the Hamilton Gardens. I walk into the Pavilion and am transported to a foreign land where flowers are lollipops and perfection is pink. I don't usually play with still life but I had a wonderful time holding the curtain in my lounge with my big toe to create a backdrop - no black fabric in sight - and trying to display this pink perfection in it's best form.

For Portia when she can't remember

Many of the photos that I love from when I was a kid are the ones where I get to see life before I remember it ie. not the posed family portrait on the couch. This photo captures a very typical Saturday morning or evening when my sister and her kids are visiting Mum and Dad's in Auckland.
Everyone looks terrible and that is what is beautiful.
